“…this province is my favourite place, the exploring never ends…”
— Val Helmond, creator of The Nova Scotia Road Trip

I’m Val Helmond, born and raised in Truro, Nova Scotia — the kind of town where you always wave to the car passing by because there’s a good chance you know who’s in it.
I’ve spent my whole life exploring this province — chasing tides on the Bay of Fundy, finding new beach walks on the South Shore, and planning weekend drives just to try a different seafood shack or coffee shop.
I created The Nova Scotia Road Trip ebook collection to share that local knowledge with you — the little detours, the best lookouts, the spots where the chowder is extra creamy, and the beaches where you’ll often have the sand mostly to yourself. Think of these guides as a friendly local riding shotgun, making sure you don’t miss the good stuff.
Whether it’s your first time here or your fifth, I’m so excited to help you fall in love with Nova Scotia in your own way.
Our hope is that you will love Nova Scotia and want to return every year and to this website to purchase your next Road Trip and Adventure!
You’ll get occasional road trip tips, seasonal ideas, and updates when new guides are released. No spam — just Nova Scotia goodness.
